intelligence

Etymologically, intelligence is the ability to read between the lines, to intuitively see relationships between concepts that cannot be seen by the analytical, fragmented mind. Guided by the creative power of the Divine, Panosophers take this skill to the utmost when developing the Unified Relationships Theory, as the solution to the ultimate problem of human learning.

Ultimately, Intelligence (with a capital I) is Self-reflective, an attribute of the Divine, acting as the eyesight of Consciousness, sometimes called the Witness in spiritual circles. The pre-eminent Christian mystic Meister Eckhart was referring to Intelligence when he said, “The eye with which I see God is the same as that with which he sees me.” So just as Consciousness is Cosmic, Intelligence is Divine. Intelligence is the divine ability to read between the lines, to see the relationships between beings within the Cosmic Context of Consciousness.

This means that if the coherent light of Consciousness is occluded with fragmented and deluded concepts, with clouds of unknowing, then Intelligence cannot function. This understanding is of the utmost importance, for otherwise, we are living our lives blindfold, rather like driving down the highway at ever increasing speeds with our eyes closed.

Etymology

About 1380, ‘the highest faculty of the mind, capacity for comprehending general truths’, from Old French intelligence and directly from Latin intelligentia, variant of intellegentia ‘understanding, knowledge, power of discerning; art, skill, taste’, from intelligentem (nominative intelligens) ‘discerning, appreciative’, present participle of intelligere ‘to understand, comprehend, come to know’, from assimilated form of inter ‘between’, from PIE base *enter, comparative of  *en ‘in’, and legere ‘to gather, choose, pick out, read’, from PIE base *leg- ‘to collect, gather’.
