Direct, immediate inner knowing of the Divine in Oneness and Wholeness, distinct from symbolic knowledge, denoting concepts within the Cosmic Psyche.
Of course, to communicate such inner knowing across space and time, it is necessary to form a concept of this exquisite experience, expressible in the word Gnosis. But the experience, itself, lies beyond the entire world of form, when the experiencer disappears as a separate being.
Greek gnōsis ‘a knowing, wisdom, understanding’, used by early Christian writers to mean ‘higher knowledge of spiritual things’, from PIE base *gnō- ‘to know’.
