Glossary menus

genə-

PIE base ‘to give birth, bear, beget, produce, generate’, with derivatives referring to aspects and results of procreation and to familial and tribal groups.

Other derivatives include morphogenesis, hylogenesis, bioogenesis, noogenesis, kin, king, jaunty, pregnant, and gingerly.

[Pokorny *ĝen-1, ĝenǝ-, ĝnē-, ĝnō- 373–375. These root forms are the same as for gnō-, root of know, cognitive, noble, etc.]

generate

In Panosophy, generate, cognate with genesis and genius, denotes the way that the Theory of Everything has emerged in the Cosmic Psyche in the vertical dimension of time.

generalize

When we generalize, we form concepts of an ever-widening scope of application, organized in generalization hierarchies, like the taxonomy of the species.

This generalizing process culminates in the superclass Being, all other classes being subclasses, a structure that has evolved from object-oriented modelling and programming methods in business.

generality

While endeavouring to understand what the Universe is and humankind’s place within the overall scheme of things, the creative power of Life has led me to take the abstractions of mathematics, computer science, and information systems modelling methods in business to the utmost level of generality.

general

To understand how we humans could live in love, peace, and harmony with each other, we need to recognize the general characteristics that we all share, beneath our unique life experiences.

Most significantly, as general derives from the PIE base *genə- ‘give birth, beget’, it is of the utmost importance that we understand both experientially and cognitively that we are all born directly from the Divine, from which we are never separate.

generalization hierarchy

In Integral Relational Logic, generalization hierarchy indicates ‘kind-of’ relationships between classes of entities, as universals, like a taxonomy.

To give a simple example, subclasses of the class Quadrilateral can be depicted in a diagram like this:
