Harmonizing Evolutionary Convergence

Glossary menus

sol-

PIE base ‘whole, well-kept’. See also kailo-, root of health, holy, and whole.

Other derivatives include safe, sage ‘herb’, solid, consolidate, solemn, solicit, and catholic ‘relating to the whole’,

It seems to be a happy coincidence that the PIE base for all the holo- words, via Greek, should have a quite different PIE base from health, holy, and whole, through Old High German and Old English.

Holoramic

Holoramic denotes the view of the Totality of Existence from the vantage point of the Divine, as Wholeness. It is based on panoramic, such as the beautiful view that we might enjoy from the top of a mountain.

Panosophers are able to take a Holoramic perspective of the world we live in when the creative power of Life guides them to stand outside themselves to integrate all knowledge into a coherent whole, as the Unified Relationships Theory.

hologenesis

In Panosophy, hologenesis is a generic term to denote all evolutionary processes, where Life generates wholes that are greater than the sum of the preceding structures by the new relationships that are formed, apparently out of nothing, synonymous with holism.

holographic

A holographic perspective of the Cosmos is generated with Self-reflective Intelligence, lit by the coherent Light of Consciousness, rather like a hologram created with a laser.

Just as a hologram contains an image of the whole within every part, a holographic view shows that the underlying structure of the manifest Cosmos is a multidimensional network of hierarchical relationships. Such a view emerges in consciousness when Panosophers take the abstractions of mathematics, computer science, and information systems modelling methods to the utmost level of generality.

holism

Jan Christiaan Smuts coined the term holism in Holism and Evolution in 1926 to highlight a factor in the physical and biological sciences that he felt had been neglected. As he said in the Preface:
