List of terms

Cosmic Equation

The Cosmic Equation or Cosmic Identity is a representation of the fundamental law of the Universe, expressed in symbols from the West and East, thereby unifying them.

Cosmic Psyche

Defining the Cosmic Psyche is the most difficult task in this Glossary because it was not until about 2010 that I was sufficiently aware of its existence to give it a name. I did so after thirty years of profound self-inquiry, seeking to answer the most critical unanswered question in science: What is causing scientists and technologists, aided and abetted by computer technology, to drive the pace of scientific discovery and technological development at unprecedented exponential rates of acceleration?

Cosmogonic Cycle

Cosmogonic Cycle denotes the birth-and-death cycle of all beings in the manifest world of form, as they emerge from the Divine Origin of the Universe and return to the Source at the end of their natural lifespans. The use of cycle in this context is different from the way planets cycle the Sun during regular periods of time, for we are here looking at time in the vertical dimension, rather than the horizontal.

Cosmology

Changing the meaning of Cosmology is challenging from three viewpoints.

First, when cosmology was introduced into English, when Isaac Newton was in his early teens, the Cosmic Psyche, as the vast expanse within and beyond the material universe, was completely ignored, as it still is today.

Cosmos

In dictionaries, cosmos is variously defined as ‘The universe regarded as an orderly, harmonious whole’, ‘An ordered, harmonious whole’, and ‘Harmony and order as distinct from chaos’. Pythagoras or his Pythagorean followers called the Universe Kosmos because he/they regarded the physical world as a ‘perfectly ordered and harmonious system’.

create

We can see from the etymology of create that people in the Middle Ages sensed the existence of a so-called supernatural agent as the cause of what is created, of what is quite new. However, following the scientific revolution in the 1600s, scientists excluded the creative power of Life, emanating directly from the Divine Origin of the Universe, from their studies.

creativity

Panosophy, as the art and science of creativity, tells us that human creativity follows exactly the same generative process as that which has brought atoms and animals, for instance, into existence.

Cross of Duality

The Cross of Duality provides a way of representing the relationships between two or more two pairs of opposites, such as A and not-A and B and not-B.

cruelty

Anthony Storr pointed out in Human Aggression, “With the exception of certain rodents, no other vertebrate habitually destroys members of its own species. No other animal takes positive pleasure in the exercise of cruelty upon another of his own kind … The sombre fact is that we are the cruellest and most ruthless species that has ever walked the earth.”
