essence

Panosophy shows that the underlying structure of the Cosmos is a multidimensional network of hierarchical relationships. In terms of the primal concepts of Integral Relational Logic, nothing else exists but this vast network of relationships between forms, which could be formalized as a graph in mathematics.

To extract simplicity from complexity, exploring the comparative abilities of humans and computers, we humans can see that structures have both a superficial form, perceivable through our five physical senses, and a profound essence, which we sense through feeling, resonating with our souls, as Divine beings.

Letters AThis is a distinction that computers cannot make. For instance, this figure gives thirty examples of the letter A in various fonts. But during the noughties, an OCR (optical character recognition) program had difficulty in reading them all, whereas we humans have no problem in seeing the pattern of A-ness in these forms.

More to come.

Etymology

Before 1398, essencia ‘substance of the Trinity’, respelled in 1481 from French essence, from Latin essentia ‘the being or essence of a thing’, from *essent-, supposed present participle stem of esse ‘to be’, from PIE base *es- ‘to be’. Formed in imitation of Greek ousiā ‘being or essence’, from ousa, feminine present participle of einai ‘to be’, root of Parousia.

The general sense of ‘the most important or basic element of anything’ is first recorded in 1656, although this sense had existed before 1398 in essential, then spelled essencyal.
